A Taste of Beijing’s New Year in Sydney — 2026 "Happy Chinese New Year · Hello Beijing" Cultural Fair Debuts at Sydney's Chinese Garden of Friendship

当地时间2月11日至12日，“欢乐春节·你好北京”游园会在澳大利亚悉尼市中心达令港谊园成功举办，当地民众热情参与，通过实景游园会巧妙融合园林山水与曹氏风筝、剪纸、糖人等非遗体验，呈现了一场极富北京特色的年味文化盛宴。北京市文化和旅游局团组受邀参加我驻悉尼总领馆新春招待会，会上精彩的文艺演出震撼全场，成为讲好中国故事，传播中国文化的生动诠释。本次活动由北京市文化和旅游局、悉尼中国文化中心、中国驻悉尼旅游办事处共同主办，北京市海外文化交流中心承办。

From February 11 to 12, the "Happy Chinese New Year · Hello Beijing" Cultural Fair was successfully held at the Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour, Sydney. The event attracted enthusiastic participation from local visitors. By cleverly integrating the garden's landscape with intangible cultural heritage experiences—such as Cao-style kites, paper-cutting, and sugar figurines—the fair presented a cultural feast rich in Beijing's distinctive New Year flavor. A delegation from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism was invited to the New Year reception hosted by the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Sydney. The stunning cultural performances at the reception captivated the audience, serving as a vivid example of telling China’s stories and sharing Chinese culture.. The event was co-hosted by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the China Cultural Centre in Sydney, and the China National Tourist Office in Sydney, and was organized by the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center.

Where Garden Meets Stage: A Living, Breathing Beijing — Immerse Yourself in a Scroll of Culture and Celebration

本次“欢乐春节”游园会在悉尼谊园举办，将文艺演出巧妙融入园林的亭台、水榭与曲径之中，使中国文化在山水意境中自然流淌。悉尼观众可在“移步换景”中体验“戏在景中演，人在画中游”的沉浸情境，深切感受北京文化的浓厚底蕴与新春的美好祝福。

This "Happy Chinese New Year" Cultural Fair was held in Sydney's Chinese Garden of Friendship, skillfully integrating cultural performances into the pavilions, waterside terraces, and winding paths. This allowed Chinese culture to flow naturally within the landscape. Sydney audiences experienced an immersive setting where "drama is performed within the scenery, and people tour within a painting" as they moved through the garden, gaining a deeper appreciation of Beijing’s rich cultural heritage and the blessings of the New Year..

京韵可感：非遗可触，感受光影中的京城魅力

Beijing's Charm in Every Touch: Intangible Heritage Comes Alive in Light and Shadow

在非遗互动展区，悉尼民众亲身体验曹氏风筝、剪纸、吹糖人等北京传统非遗技艺，传承人的讲解与展示让古老技艺鲜活可感。同期举办的“你好，北京”图片展与全球吉庆生肖设计大赛获奖精品图片展，通过影像与创意设计展现中国生肖文化魅力与北京城市形象。许多观众表示，此次活动加深了他们对北京的向往，希望亲自探访这座古今交融的现代城市。

In the Intangible Cultural Heritage Interactive Zone, Sydney residents personally experienced traditional Beijing skills such as Cao-style kites, paper-cutting, and sugar-figure blowing. The explanations and displays by heritage inheritors made these ancient skills vivid and tangible. The concurrent "Hello, Beijing" Photo Exhibition and the Global Auspicious Chinese Zodiac Design Exhibition displayed the charm of Chinese zodiac culture and the image of Beijing through imagery and creative design. Many visitors expressed that this event deepened their yearning for Beijing and hoped to personally visit this modern city where the ancient and modern blend.

跨界联动：科技潮玩，可触可达的文旅邀约

Where Culture Meets Creativity: A Playful Invitation to Explore Beijing

文化有温度，旅游有路径。本次活动通过“文化+旅游+科技”跨界融合，构建了多维度的文旅推介生态。“咔咔数字相机”以数字科技带领观众体验北京主题场景拍照打卡；北京市海外文化交流中心与“奇梦岛”联名推出的马年生肖款WAKUKU惊喜亮相；御茶膳房以茶香传递北京味道。此外，中国国际航空提供的悉尼往返北京机票、中国国际旅行社总社提供的北京星级酒店招待券，将文旅体验转化为可触达的旅行方案，有效激发了当地民众的访京意愿。

This event brought culture, travel, and technology together in one dynamic space, transforming the Beijing experience into something immersive, interactive, and instantly accessible. The "KaKa Digital Camera" used digital technology to invite audiences to take photos in Beijing-themed settings; the Year of the Horse "WAKUKU," launched jointly by the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center and "Dream Island," made a surprise debut; and Imperial Kitchen conveyed the taste of Beijing through the scent of tea. Furthermore, round-trip tickets from Sydney to Beijing provided by Air China and vouchers for Beijing star-rated hotels provided by China International Travel Service transformed the cultural experience into accessible travel plans, effectively stimulating local visitors' willingness to visit Beijing.

目前，中国对澳大利亚实行免签政策，2025年北京市接待澳大利亚入境游客168132人次，较2024年增长62%。本次“欢乐春节·你好北京”游园会通过创新的活动形式、丰富的内容体验，生动展现了中国文化魅力与北京城市形象，不仅调动了当地民众的参与热情，更通过可触、可感、可期的多层次互动，有效激发了悉尼市民前来北京旅游的浓厚兴趣，实现了文化交流与旅游推广的双重成效。

Currently, China offers visa-free entry to Australia citizens. In 2025, Beijing received 168,132 Australian inbound tourists, a 62% increase over 2024. The "Happy Chinese New Year · Hello Beijing" Cultural Fair, through innovative event formats and rich content experiences, vividly showcased the charm of Chinese culture and the image of Beijing. It not only mobilized the enthusiastic participation of local visitors but also, through muti-layered, perceptible, and engaging interactions, effectively stimulated the strong interest of Sydney citizens to travel to Beijing, achieving dual results in cultural exchange and tourism promotion.
